How we compare
A comparison table is only as good as the rules behind it. These are ours, written down before the first firm was listed, so they cannot be bent to fit a result later.
- 34futures prop firms scored
- 11published figures read per firm
- 5axes in the PFT Scout Score
- 69highest score today, out of 100
The rules
Six rules, all of which can be checked against the page itself.
A number is only listed if it can be traced to the firm's own rulebook, terms or account page, not to a blog, not to another comparison site. Each entry carries the link it came from and the date it was last read.
Prop firm terms change constantly. Entries are re-checked on a fixed schedule and the check date is shown next to the firm. An entry whose check date has aged out is marked unverified rather than left standing as if it were current.
If a firm does not publish a figure, the cell reads "Not stated". It is never rendered as a zero, and never quietly filtered out. How the PFT Scout Score treats a missing figure is explained below.
The PFT Scout Score is our own rating. It sits in its own column and you can sort by it, but the list opens in alphabetical order, because the right firm still depends on what you trade.
If a listing ever carries a partner link, that is disclosed on the row, and it changes neither the order, the inclusion nor the PFT Scout Score of any firm.
The comparison describes published terms. It is not financial advice, not a recommendation, and no substitute for reading the current rules before you pay for an evaluation.
What the columns mean
The drawdown row is the one that decides most accounts, so it is split into an amount and a type. The type is what actually ends the account.
The loss limit follows your highest unrealised equity during the session. Giving back an open profit can breach it even on a winning day.
The limit moves up only with a closed balance at the end of a session, so intraday give-back does not count against it.
The limit sits at a fixed level from the starting balance and does not move with profits.
Track record and payouts
“Claimed” means the firm says it on its own website. We quote the figure and link the page; we cannot check a firm’s bank records, so it is not verified.
Years since the firm or brand was founded, from its own statement or a company register. A copyright year in a site footer is not counted as a founding year.
The total the firm says it has paid out to traders, rounded down, never up. “All products” marks totals that include the brand’s CFD or forex accounts. Revenue or simulated capital is never counted as a payout.
The cap on the first payout of the $50k account. Later payouts are often capped differently; the firm page shows the steps. “No cap” appears only where the firm states it in writing.
The PFT Scout Score
A score from 0 to 100 for every firm, based on our years of experience in the prop game. It weighs five axes, listed here from most to least important. Each figure is compared with the same figure at every other firm on the list, so the score says how a firm stands against the market, not against a threshold we made up. Today the five axes have 5 different leaders: no firm is best at everything.

- Drawdown typeStatic ranks above trailing at end of day, which ranks above trailing intraday.
- Daily loss limitNo daily limit ranks highest; otherwise a wider limit ranks higher.

Payouts
Rank 2 of 5How the money gets out once the account is funded.
What goes in- Max payoutThe cap on the first payout. A written “no cap” ranks above any figure.
- Payout cycleHow often you can request a payout, counted in trading days. Shorter is better.
- Profit splitYour share of the profit, the starting split where the firm scales it. Higher is better.

Track record
Rank 3 of 5How long the firm has been on record. Mostly years in business.
What goes in- Founding yearMore years rank higher. A firm that does not say when it was founded gets no credit for age: it ranks below every firm whose founding year is on record.
- Claimed payoutsCounts only a little and only as a plausibility check, spread over the years, because no one verifies these totals.

Reputation
Rank 4 of 5What traders who paid the firm say about it in public.
What goes in- Trustpilot ratingThe headline rating, weighted by the number of reviews, so a handful of reviews cannot outrank thousands.
- Trustpilot warningWhere Trustpilot shows a warning instead of a rating, for example after removing fake reviews, the firm gets the lowest value on this axis, below the weakest real rating.

Transparency
Weighs leastHow much of its own rulebook the firm puts in writing.
What goes in- Core rule figuresprofit target, max drawdown, drawdown type, daily loss limit, minimum trading days, max payout, payout cycle, profit split, founding year. Every figure the firm keeps to itself costs a little here. The entry fee is not one of them.
Top on this axis todayAlpha FuturesShares the top value with 14 other firms.79/ 100 on TransparencyLowest on this axis: Legends Trading, the firm that leaves the most core figures unstated.
If a firm does not publish a figure, that figure sits in the middle of its axis. It is never counted as zero and never as a strength. Silence costs points in two places: Transparency, and the founding year, because trust has to be earned on the record.
The score reads the published rules and nothing else. Partner links, commissions and the entry fee do not go into it. A firm cannot pay for a better score.
Know which rule you break first
Whichever firm you pick, the account is lost on the rule your own behaviour hits soonest. PFT EdgeBook journals every fill so that rule is visible before it costs you the account.
